About Us

Sheels Educational ltd, started over 18 years ago as a small family business, founded by Ram and Sheela Matta. In the year 2000, Sheels opened the doors to their retail store in Lancaster Road, Enfield: Sheels Books For Children. The store was opened so that teachers had a place to come and view books and so that parents had somewhere to come to get advice on what books their children should be reading and what study guides are recommended for their age.

Over the years, Sheels continued to work with schools globally, providing them with top quality services, books and advice on what they need to raise reading levels in schools. Over the years, Ram and Sheela's daughters have helped in the running of the business, with book fairs, events and with bringing the business into the technological age.

In the summer of 2014, Sheels took a step that most independent book-stores over the U.K. had been doing- closing the doors of their retail store and focused all retail efforts online, Retail customers are still more than welcome to call and speak to Ram for advice and to order books that we can send out to you.

Sheels is now based in an office in Elstree, where we continue to work with schools and teachers, giving a friendly, reliable and helpful service when it comes to selecting and purchasing children's books for schools.

Given the unreliability of the market in 2020, we have now opened our doors online to parents and schools alike, in order to purchase some of our best collections, ever popular home reader boxes and more!
